ST. GABRIEL, La. — A tragic act of violence has shaken the city of St. Gabriel and its close-knit law enforcement community following the death of a longtime police officer. Captain Devin “Curly” Boutte, 34, was found stabbed to death early Sunday morning, July 6, inside his home on Legion Drive.
Captain Boutte, a respected member of the St. Gabriel Police Department, had served the community for many years and was known for his dedication, kindness, and infectious personality. News of his death has sent waves of grief through the city, with residents, city officials, and fellow officers expressing shock and sorrow.
