He leaves behind a loving family, including his children: Wanda (Chase) Tomak of Glouster; Tabitha Whitaker of Marion; Bailey (Caleb) Halsey of Findlay; Brooklyn (Tyler) Wies of Dola; and Sara Jean “Blondie” (Trent) Reichelderfer of Kenton. He is also survived by his sister, Stephanie Cannode of Kenton, and his cherished grandchildren: Ellieana and Tommie; Leland and Laylyn; Blake and Emma; Kyson; Kannon, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and lifelong friends.
Steven was preceded in death by his aunts Norma Chatfield and Patricia Wood; uncles David Cannode and Bill Howe Sr.; and his best friend, Dave “Hillman” Roberts, whose memory he held close.
A proud member of the Eagles Post 2163, Moose Lodge 428, and Sons of AmVets Post 1994, Steven lived life with energy and heart. He found joy in boating, hunting, drag racing, and fishing on Lake Erie for perch and walleye. He was happiest in his garage, fixing cars, off-roading in his side-by-side, or riding his motorcycle with friends. A loyal Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Steven’s presence was bold, fun-loving, and deeply devoted to his family.
His grandchildren were the light of his life, and his legacy will live on in the laughter, stories, and love he leaves behind.
A visitation and celebration of Steven’s life will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Schindewolf-Stout-Crates Funeral Home in Kenton.
May his memory be a blessing and his spirit live on in all who knew and loved him.
