It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Coach Joe Monmonier, longtime Athletic Director and a deeply treasured member of the Seahawk family.
Coach Monmonier was more than a leader on the field—he was a mentor, a role model, and a guiding light to generations of student-athletes, coaches, and colleagues. His legacy stretches far beyond wins and championships. It lives in the values he instilled: integrity, perseverance, teamwork, and heart.
For decades, Coach Monmonier dedicated himself to shaping not only athletes but whole people. He believed in the power of sports to build character, to teach life lessons, and to bring communities together. He led with wisdom, humility, and an unwavering belief in every student who wore the Seahawk uniform.
Those who knew him will remember his booming voice on the sidelines, his quiet words of encouragement behind the scenes, and his constant presence at games, practices, and school events. He celebrated every victory, comforted through every loss, and never stopped believing in the potential of his students.
Beyond the athletics program, Coach Monmonier was a pillar of strength and support in the Seahawk community. He was a colleague, a friend, a mentor, and for many, a second father. His laughter was contagious, his advice was always thoughtful, and his heart was as big as the teams he led.
As we grieve this tremendous loss, we also honor a life lived with purpose, passion, and deep commitment. Coach Joe Monmonier’s impact is etched in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy will continue to live on—in the fields and courts he walked, in the lives he shaped, and in the spirit of the Seahawk family he so dearly loved.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time. Coach, you were the heart of this community. Thank you for everything.
Rest well, Coach Monmonier. Your legacy is everlasting. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
