McLEAN COUNTY, Ky. — A tragic car crash on Wednesday night has claimed the life of 15-year-old Evy Thompson, leaving the McLean County community in shock and mourning. The accident occurred on KY 81 near Wallace Lynn Road, just north of Calhoun, and is currently under investigation by Kentucky State Police.
Authorities report that an 18-year-old was driving three juvenile passengers when the vehicle lost control, struck an embankment, and overturned. All four occupants were transported to the hospital for treatment. Evy Thompson was airlifted to Louisville in critical condition, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
In response to this heartbreaking loss, McLean County High School will host a supportive gathering tonight, July 10, at 6:00 p.m. in the school gym. Students, staff, and members of the community are encouraged to come together to grieve, remember Evy, and offer comfort to one another and her family during this incredibly difficult time.
In addition, Bellevue Baptist Church’s Student Ministry will be offering counseling opportunities for students and families from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. this evening at the church.
Evy Thompson will be remembered for her bright spirit, kind heart, and the light she brought into the lives of those who knew her. As the investigation into the crash continues, the community holds Evy’s family and loved ones close in prayer and support.
