Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash Claims Life of Bridgeville Man


BRIDGEVILLE, DE — A tragic single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning has claimed the life of a 27-year-old man from Bridgeville, Delaware, according to the Delaware State Police.

The incident occurred around 5 a.m. on July 12, when authorities say a Buick Century was traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on Wilson Farm Road. As the vehicle approached the intersection with Cannon Road and Conrail Road, it failed to stop at the posted sign. Investigators report that the car left the roadway on Conrail Road, re-entered it, spun out of control, and ultimately overturned after striking a concrete barrier.

The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
