River Falls Woman Killed in Friday Morning Crash on U.S. 84

RIVER FALLS, Ala. — A tragic two-vehicle accident claimed the life of a River Falls woman Friday morning, July 11, in a devastating crash that occurred just after 9:20 a.m. on U.S. Highway 84 near Grady Ralls and Sons Construction.

According to the River Falls Police Department, Robyn Weaver, 32, of River Falls, was traveling westbound in a 2012 Nissan Rogue when, for reasons still under investigation, her vehicle crossed the center line into the path of an eastbound 2016 Mack 600 semi-truck driven by Wilbur Thomas Jr., 51, of Donalsonville, Georgia.

The vehicles collided violently, causing both to overturn. Weaver’s Nissan Rogue flipped and slid on its roof, while the Mack truck—loaded with peanuts—overturned into a ditch as Thomas attempted to avoid the impact.

Weaver was pronounced deceased at the scene by first responders. Authorities confirmed she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Thomas sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported by Advanced EMS to Andalusia Health for treatment.

The collision brought a swift response from multiple agencies. River Falls Police, the Covington County Sheriff’s Office, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), Advanced EMS, River Falls, Red Level and Loango Fire Departments, ALDOT, and Opp Exxon all responded to the scene.

River Falls Police Chief Laster expressed his deep condolences to the families affected by the tragedy and offered his thanks to all who responded to the emergency.

“This is a heartbreaking situation,” Chief Laster said. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones of everyone involved. We are grateful to all the emergency responders and agencies who assisted in this tragic event.”

The crash remains under investigation by local authorities, and no further details have been released at this time.
