UPDATE: Victim Identified in Campbell Street Homicide


JACKSON, TN — The Jackson Police Department has officially identified the victim in the fatal shooting that occurred on Friday, July 11, 2025, in the 1300 block of Campbell Street. The deceased has been confirmed as 18-year-old Ja’Carreon Jermaine Williams.

Officers initially responded to a shots-fired call at approximately 10:20 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered a young Black male suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite lifesaving efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity remained unknown in the hours immediately following the incident until he was later confirmed as Williams.

This tragic event has been classified as a homicide, and the investigation remains active and ongoing. Detectives are working diligently to uncover the circumstances surrounding the shooting and to identify any suspects involved.
