Deadly Crash in Northeast Harris County Claims Life of Catherine Dianne Van Diest


KINGWOOD, TX — A devastating two-vehicle collision in Northeast Harris County has claimed the life of Catherine Dianne Van Diest, leaving a community in mourning and authorities investigating the cause of the crash.

The accident occurred around 5:45 p.m. on Sunday on West Lake Houston Parkway near Magnolia Cove Drive. According to Houston Police Sergeant Lee, the crash involved a white Cadillac SUV and a white Dodge Ram truck.

Preliminary reports indicate the Cadillac SUV, occupied by an elderly couple, was stopped at a stop sign and attempted to pull out onto West Lake Houston Parkway. At that moment, the Dodge Ram, reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed, T-boned the Cadillac. Both passengers in the Cadillac — including Catherine Dianne Van Diest — were tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Dodge Ram was transported to Kingwood Hospital with injuries. Police have not yet released the driver’s identity but confirmed that an investigation is underway to determine if intoxication may have been a factor in the crash.

This tragic incident has shocked the Kingwood area and raised concerns about traffic safety and speeding along the busy corridor.
