MANHUNT UNDERWAY: Teenager on the Run After Shooting Woman, Setting House on Fire, and Taking Child Hostage

Georgia —Authorities in Bibb County are actively searching for 18-year-old Nicholas Floyd, who is accused of a violent and disturbing crime spree that left one woman seriously injured, a house destroyed, and a child briefly taken hostage.

The chaos began on Tuesday when deputies were called to a home on Log Cabin Drive near Presidential Parkway in west Macon, where they discovered a 52-year-old woman suffering from gunshot wounds. After an initial investigation, officials determined the woman had actually been shot about four miles away on Madden Avenue, at a separate location that had since been set on fire.

As emergency crews responded to both scenes, a new and terrifying development emerged—Nicholas Floyd had taken a 12-year-old child hostage inside a residence on Summer Hill Drive.

In response, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of a SWAT team, initiated a high-risk operation. Officers forcibly entered the home and successfully rescued the child, who was found physically unharmed and safely reunited with family. However, Floyd had already fled the scene.

As of now, Nicholas Floyd remains at large and is considered armed and extremely dangerous. Authorities are warning residents not to approach him if seen and to report any sightings immediately.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information about Floyd’s whereabouts to call 478-751-7500, or contact the Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME (1-877-682-7463). Anonymous tips are welcome and could be crucial in bringing this situation to a safe resolution.

This is a developing story, and the community remains on edge as law enforcement intensifies their efforts to locate and apprehend the suspect.
