Nova Scotia is in mourning after the tragic passing of Sherry Ward on July 14 2025, a beloved member of the Harley Owners Group Central Chapter Nova Scotia (HOG CCNS) and a cherished friend, sister, and inspiration to many in the motorcycle community and beyond.
On Saturday, June 28th, during what was meant to be a joyful and spirited group ride to Cape Breton, tragedy struck. The Central Chapter had embarked on a journey together—a celebration of freedom, friendship, and the open road. But in a devastating moment, an elderly driver crossed the yellow line, veering into the path of the riders. Sherry was struck head-on, while several others narrowly avoided the collision. What followed was a nightmare that no one could have imagined.
Sherry was initially rushed to Antigonish Hospital and later airlifted to the QEII Health Sciences Centre in Halifax, where she was admitted to the ICU in critical condition. The entire HOG community and countless friends across Nova Scotia and Canada held their breath, prayed, and rallied in support. A fundraising campaign was started to help cover her mounting medical and financial needs, a reflection of how deeply people cared for her and how far her influence had reached.
Despite the best efforts of medical staff and an outpouring of love and support, Sherry was later moved to palliative care, and with heavy hearts, her loved ones had to say goodbye. Her passing has left a deep wound in the hearts of all who knew her.
Sherry Ward was so much more than a biker—she was a force of nature. She was strong, independent, fearless, and filled with warmth. Known affectionately as a badass female rider, Sherry wasn’t afraid to be herself. She embraced life with passion, brought joy wherever she went, and made every ride, every conversation, and every gathering more vibrant and memorable. She was the kind of woman who lit up a room, or a roadside, with laughter, strength, and a genuine heart.
She lived life full throttle, and she loved bringing others along for the ride. Whether it was cruising along Nova Scotia’s coastlines, grabbing coffee with friends, or just offering a word of encouragement, Sherry lived boldly and gave freely. She made everyone feel like family, and she will always be remembered for her magnetic personality and unwavering loyalty.
Her HOG CCNS family is devastated by this loss. In their words:
“Sister Sherry, you will always be in our hearts. You were warm, loving, fun, and always up for a good time. You lived a passionate life, and we were lucky to ride beside you. You will be missed—terribly. All our love.”
As Nova Scotia grieves, the outpouring of support continues. Tributes, photos, and memories have flooded social media—each one a testament to the lives she touched and the love she gave. The road ahead will feel emptier without her, but her spirit will ride on in every mile, every engine’s hum, and every sunlit highway.
We send our deepest condolences to Sherry’s family, friends, and her HOG CCNS family. Thank you for sharing her with the world.
Ride in peace, Sister Sherry. The road is yours now, forever.
