Randall County, Texas —The Randall County Sheriff’s Office is providing an update on the ongoing investigation into the July 3rd drive-by shooting that occurred in the 11000 block of Double D Road.
At approximately 9:42 p.m. on July 3, 2025, deputies responded to reports of a shooting at a residence on Double D Road. Upon arrival, they discovered a female victim, later identified as Kristie Harris, who had sustained a gunshot wound to the head. Ms. Harris was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Kristie Harris succumbed to her injuries on July 15, 2025. An autopsy has been ordered by the Randall County Justice of the Peace as part of the ongoing investigation.
In connection with the shooting, two individuals have been arrested and booked into the Randall County Jail:
- Anakin Harrison, arrested on July 3, 2025, and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
- Jacob McCormick, arrested on July 8, 2025, and also charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
Given the death of the victim, additional charges are currently under review. The Randall County Criminal District Attorney’s Office is working closely with investigators to determine appropriate charges moving forward, including potential homicide charges.
