GA — A man was shot early Wednesday morning in a Grovetown neighborhood, leading to two arrests as Columbia County authorities continue to investigate the violent incident.
Deputies were dispatched around 4:00 a.m. to the 500 block of Louisville Road, where they found 39-year-old Kenneth Tabor Jr. lying outside his grandmother’s garage, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the leg, thigh, and torso. His vehicle, still running, was located in the front yard of the home.
According to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, Tabor told deputies that he was shot in the parking lot of the Willow Oak Subdivision pool on Sabastian Drive and fled the scene to seek help at his grandmother’s residence. Emergency responders administered first aid before transporting him to Doctors Hospital, where he remains in stable condition.
As the investigation unfolded, authorities arrested 27-year-old Isiah Matthew Karausky at a residence in Augusta without incident. He has been charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and is being held without bond.
In connection with the case, deputies also arrested 43-year-old Tiffany Reeves, a Grovetown resident, and charged her with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Her bond was set at $5,100, though officials say her role in the actual shooting is still under investigation.
The shooting victim, Kenneth Tabor Jr., is a convicted felon with a criminal history that includes drug trafficking and methamphetamine manufacturing in the presence of children. Tabor has served three separate prison sentences, the most recent ending in 2023 after he served four years of a ten-year sentence.
Authorities have not released a possible motive behind the shooting, and the investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.
