In Memoriam: Detective Bryan Bodine


The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Detective Bryan Bodine, who died on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. His loss is felt profoundly throughout our department and the entire Hardin County community.

Detective Bodine dedicated the last 12 years of his life to serving and protecting the citizens of Hardin County with honor, integrity, and compassion. Throughout his career, he held several critical roles within the Sheriff’s Office—including enforcement deputy, K-9 handler, and detective. In each position, Bryan demonstrated an unwavering commitment to public safety and a deep sense of responsibility to those he served.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Bryan was a valued friend, a respected colleague, and a steady presence within the Sheriff’s Office. His kindness, professionalism, and sense of duty left a lasting mark on those who had the privilege of working alongside him. He will be remembered not only for his service, but for the positive spirit and dedication he brought to every aspect of his work.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Logan County Sheriff Randall Dodds and his staff for their support and assistance during this difficult time. We are also thankful to the many law enforcement and first responder agencies who have offered their help and condolences.

Detective Bryan Bodine’s legacy of service and sacrifice will not be forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and fellow officers as we mourn this tremendous loss.

Rest easy, Detective Bodine. We’ll take it from here.
