Calvin Hyatt Obituary Death


Calvin Hyatt, 68, of Waynesboro, Mississippi, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, July 17, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1957, in Amarillo, Texas, Calvin brought a warmth and devotion to life that deeply touched everyone who knew him.

He was the beloved son of Rev. William “Bill” Hyatt and Dorothy “Dean” Hyatt Johnson. A hard-working and dedicated man, Calvin built a life through his trade as a self-employed concrete finisher—crafting not just foundations, but a legacy of resilience and pride. Those who knew Calvin will remember his strong hands, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for his family.

Calvin is preceded in death by his father, Rev. William “Bill” Hyatt. He is survived by his devoted wife of 40 years, Lynn Hyatt of Waynesboro, MS; his mother, Dorothy “Dean” Hyatt Johnson of Laurel, MS; two sons, Chase Hyatt of Waynesboro, MS, and John Hyatt of Laurel, MS; two daughters, Jennifer Spivery (R.J.) and Kyla Hyatt, both of Waynesboro, MS; two brothers, Willie Hyatt (Monica) of Seminary, MS, and Chris Hyatt of Laurel, MS; and six cherished grandchildren: Bentley Jones, Kylan Dumas, Gracelynn Hyatt, Anna Hyatt, Saint Dumas, and Jentri Spivery.

A man of deep family values, Calvin found his greatest joy in the love and laughter of his children and grandchildren. Whether it was sharing stories, working with his hands, or simply sitting on the porch with Lynn, Calvin embraced life with humility, strength, and grace.

A Graveside Service to honor and celebrate Calvin’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at White House Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS, with Rev. Bo Farrior officiating. Interment will follow at White House Cemetery.

Calvin Hyatt’s legacy of love, faith, and hard work will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May he rest in eternal peace.
