HARTFORD, WI – A tragic one-vehicle crash on the night of July 17, 2025, has claimed the life of a 21-year-old woman from Hartford, leaving the local community in mourning.
At approximately 9:46 p.m., the Washington County Sheriff’s Office received multiple emergency calls reporting a serious accident near County Trunk K and Kettle Moraine Road in the Town of Hartford. Deputies, along with the Slinger Police Department, were quickly dispatched to the scene, where they discovered a severely damaged vehicle and the lone occupant, a young woman in critical condition.
Hartford Fire and Rescue and the St. Lawrence Fire Department also responded and immediately began life-saving efforts. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital, but despite the efforts of first responders and medical staff, she was tragically pronounced deceased.
Authorities have confirmed the victim’s identity as a 21-year-old Hartford resident. Her name has not been released pending notification of additional family members.
The roadway remained closed for nearly five hours as the Washington County Crash Reconstruction Unit conducted a detailed investigation. At this time, the cause of the crash remains under active investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.
This heartbreaking loss has left family, friends, and the Hartford community in deep sorrow. Loved ones remember the victim as a vibrant young woman full of promise and light. Grief counselors and support networks are being made available for those affected by this sudden and tragic event.
