In Loving Memory of Truston Alexander


With profound sadness, we share the tragic passing of Truston Alexander, a beloved 16-year-old from Butler County, Missouri, who lost his life following a tubing accident on the evening of July 15, 2025.

The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. on a private pond near County Road 465. Truston was enjoying a summer evening being pulled on a tube by a boat when a sudden accident changed everything. Thrown from the tube, he tragically collided with a partially submerged log. Emergency responders rushed him to a hospital in Poplar Bluff, and he was later airlifted to a hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Despite the heroic efforts of medical teams, Truston passed away from his injuries the following day, July 16.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol and Butler County Coroner Jim Akers confirmed Truston’s identity and offered heartfelt condolences to the family, who are facing unimaginable grief. The incident remains under investigation but has been ruled an accidental death.

Truston was a bright light in the lives of everyone who knew him. Known for his passion for the outdoors, he loved golfing, hunting, fishing, and trap shooting. He was deeply involved in school sports, proudly representing the Poplar Bluff Skeet and Golf teams. His energy, kindness, and enthusiasm made him a treasured friend, teammate, and son.

He had a deep love for life and was happiest when surrounded by the people he cared about. Whether he was on the course, in the woods, or by the water, Truston approached life with a joyful spirit and a fearless heart.

The Bainbridge Township Police and Fire Departments, along with countless friends and neighbors, have expressed their condolences and support to the Alexander family during this heartbreaking time. As a community, we grieve the loss of a young life taken far too soon and rally around his loved ones with love and compassion.

Truston’s legacy will live on through the memories he leaves behind, the lives he touched, and the laughter he shared. His passing is a powerful reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of safety in everything we do—especially in activities we cherish with the people we love most.

May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may those who mourn find comfort in knowing how deeply he was loved.
