Two Men Killed in Separate Birmingham Shootings Identified

BIRMINGHAM, AL — Authorities have identified two men who were fatally shot in separate incidents just hours apart in Birmingham this week. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office on Friday confirmed the victims as Cameron Demijah Little, 23, and Corey Lavel Tremble, 38—both residents of Birmingham.

East Lake Park Shooting

Cameron Little was one of two individuals shot late Wednesday night at East Lake Park. The city’s Shot Spotter gunfire detection system alerted officers to approximately 10 rounds fired in the 100 block of 84th Street North just after 11:30 p.m.

When East Precinct officers arrived, they found Little unresponsive in the park. Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service pronounced him dead at 12:01 a.m. Thursday. Another victim survived the shooting and was taken for treatment, though their identity and condition have not been disclosed.

According to Officer De’Rell Freeman, a preliminary investigation suggests that a group of both men and women had gathered in the park for unknown reasons when gunfire erupted. Authorities are still working to determine what led to the violence.

Early Morning Shooting in Ensley

Just a few hours later, at 3:00 a.m. Thursday, West Precinct officers were dispatched to the 700 block of 17th Street Ensley after receiving a report of a person down.

There, officers discovered Corey Tremble suffering from gunshot wounds. Birmingham Fire and Rescue arrived shortly after and pronounced him dead at 3:37 a.m.

Officer Freeman noted that limited information is available at this time, but said that a passerby found Tremble and called 911.

Ongoing Violence in Birmingham

The deaths of Little and Tremble mark a continued surge in deadly violence in Birmingham. Their deaths bring the city’s homicide count to 42 for the year. In Jefferson County overall, that number rises to 66 homicides so far in 2025.

Police have not yet made arrests in either case and urge anyone with information to come forward.
