In Loving Memory of Blaze M. Lachappelle

Youngsville, Louisiana, With heavy hearts and deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Blaze M. Lachappelle, 24, of Youngsville, Louisiana, who tragically lost his life in a single-vehicle accident early this morning in Lafayette.

The incident occurred around 2:00 a.m. in the 200 block of Southpark Road. According to the Lafayette Police Department, Blaze was driving westbound when his vehicle, for reasons still under investigation, veered off the north side of the road. The vehicle struck a culvert, crossed American Boulevard, and collided with a tree before becoming engulfed in flames.

Emergency responders from the Lafayette Fire Department arrived swiftly and worked to extract Blaze from the burning vehicle. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

Blaze was known to many as a spirited, kind-hearted young man who brought warmth and energy to every space he entered. His untimely passing has left his family, friends, and community devastated. In just 24 years, Blaze left behind cherished memories and touched many lives with his generous nature and vibrant soul.

As the Lafayette Police Department’s Traffic Unit continues to investigate the cause of the crash, loved ones are left mourning the sudden and heartbreaking loss of a life taken too soon.
