NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX — Authorities are investigating a troubling case of suspected child abuse after a 4-month-old baby was rushed to the ICU at Texas Children’s Hospital with multiple head injuries, including a black eye.
The baby’s mother has been identified as 20-year-old Jessy Madeline Moore. According to preliminary reports, Jessy told investigators that the infant’s injuries occurred when her 22-month-old child allegedly opened a refrigerator door, causing the injuries.
However, law enforcement officials have raised concerns, citing Jessy’s history of family violence. Public records reveal that Moore has been involved in three prior cases of family violence in the past year alone.
Due to the sensitive nature of the ongoing investigation, authorities have not released further details at this time.
The case has sparked outrage and concern within the Nacogdoches community, as officials continue to determine how the infant sustained such severe injuries. Child Protective Services are reportedly involved, and the investigation remains active.
No arrests have been publicly announced, and authorities state that updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
