Born on April 30, 2003, in Lafayette, Ty was a 2021 graduate of Carroll High School. During his school years, he was a proud member of the band, playing the French horn with dedication and talent. Ty was in the midst of his service apprenticeship to become an automobile mechanic, passionately pursuing a career that aligned with his deep love for cars.

Ty was a proud member of the Underrated Motors and 765 Motors car clubs, where he found a second family among fellow car enthusiasts. Whether he was kayaking, boating, fishing, shooting, traveling, or simply enjoying the outdoors, Ty embraced life with an adventurous and open heart. He had a special fondness for music, working on vehicles—especially his cherished Colorado truck—and sharing time with his cat, Sissy, and his late beloved dog, Bullett.

Ty is survived by his loving mother, Brooke Richards, and father, Kevin Richards (Amy Ellison), all of Lafayette; his sister, Joslyn Conrad; his grandparents, Kenneth and Cindy Richards of Frankfort; and his aunts and uncles: Bryan Beeker, Matthew Richards (Kasey Miller), and Tony Richards (Amanda). He is also lovingly remembered by cousins Owen White, Connor, and Charlotte Richards, along with numerous great aunts, uncles, cousins, and many close lifelong friends who meant the world to him.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Gerald and Janet Beeker.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Lafayette. Burial will follow at St. Boniface Cemetery in Lafayette.

In honor of Ty’s love for animals, memorial contributions may be made in his name to a humane society of the donor’s choice.

Ty will be remembered for his kind soul, bright spirit, and the way he lived life with heart and horsepower. May he rest in peace, reunited with Bullett, and forever cruising in the sky. 🕊️
