CHATTANOOGA, TN —A wave of grief has swept across Chattanooga following the tragic death of a 15-year-old boy, who was shot and killed early Sunday morning in a neighborhood shaken by violence and heartbreak. The Chattanooga Police Department (CPD) responded swiftly and has confirmed the arrest of 18-year-old Malik Allen, now facing serious charges in connection with the fatal shooting.
The shooting occurred in the early hours of Sunday, leaving residents stunned and calling for justice as first responders arrived at the scene. Despite efforts to save him, the young victim tragically succumbed to his injuries, marking another painful chapter in the city’s ongoing battle with youth violence.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the 15-year-old, out of respect for the family’s privacy. However, police did announce that Malik Allen has been taken into custody and is facing criminal homicide charges. Investigators believe Allen and the victim knew each other, but a clear motive has not been publicly disclosed.
