17-Year-Old Killed in Ponchatoula Drive-By Shooting; Two Others Injured as Police Search for Suspects

PONCHATOULA, La. — The Ponchatoula community is reeling after a tragic drive-by shooting claimed the life of Marvin Wells, a 17-year-old boy, and left two others injured on Sunday, July 20, 2025.

Ponchatoula Police responded to reports of gunfire in the Lakeside Circle neighborhood, where they discovered three victims suffering from gunshot wounds. All were transported to North Oaks Medical Center for emergency care. Sadly, Marvin Wells was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

A second 17-year-old male and a 59-year-old man were also injured in the shooting but are currently in stable condition.

Two Suspects Identified

Following a swift investigation, police issued arrest warrants for two individuals believed to be responsible for the attack:

  • Julius Troyvon Glass Jr., 18
  • Kera Wolbers, 18

Both face multiple felony charges, including:

  • First-degree murder
  • Attempted first-degree murder
  • Assault by drive-by shooting
  • Aggravated obstruction of a highway of commerce
  • Illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities
  • Aggravated second-degree battery

The suspects were last seen fleeing the area in a late-model black four-door Cadillac sedan. Their whereabouts are currently unknown.

As the investigation continues, the Ponchatoula Police Department is working diligently to bring justice to Marvin’s family and ensure the safety of the community.
