The Anderson County Coroner’s Office has identified the man who lost his life in a single-vehicle accident late Sunday night as Christopher Wayne Leopard, of Starr, South Carolina.

The fatal crash occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. on White Hall Road, near its intersection with Dixon Road, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol. Authorities reported that a pickup truck traveling westbound veered off the right side of the road and struck a utility pole.

Leopard, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was found trapped inside. Emergency responders worked to free him, but tragically, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The coroner confirmed his cause of death was blunt-force trauma, and the incident has been officially ruled an accidental death.

Officials also noted that Leopard was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, a factor that may have contributed to the severity of the outcome.
