Pradesh Ragunauth Obituary, Death – Man, 46, Dies After Accidental Drowning in Wolcott

Pradesh Ragunauth, 46, tragically passed away on Sunday night, July 20, after being found unresponsive in a backyard pool on Cedar Avenue in Wolcott, Connecticut.

Wolcott police responded to a report of an accidental drowning at a residence on the 70 block of Cedar Avenue shortly after 11:15 p.m., according to Deputy Police Chief Sara Carrillo. Upon arrival, officers found Mr. Ragunauth in the pool, unresponsive. He was pulled from the water, and CPR was immediately performed by emergency responders.

“Unfortunately, Mr. Ragunauth passed away,” Carrillo confirmed. The circumstances surrounding the incident are currently under investigation.

His death is the most recent in a string of tragic water-related incidents across the state. Just days earlier, a young boy who was pulled from Indian Well State Park in Shelton died, according to officials with the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. In Fairfield, a 2-year-old boy was recently resuscitated after a near-drowning but, according to his family, is not expected to survive.

The sudden loss of Pradesh Ragunauth has left his family and community mourning a life cut short far too soon. Loved ones remember him as a kind and gentle soul whose presence brought warmth to those around him.

As police continue to investigate the exact circumstances of the incident, authorities are reminding the public of the importance of water safety, particularly during the summer months when such accidents are more common.

Funeral arrangements for Mr. Ragunauth have not yet been publicly announced.
