Robert Wolf Jr. Obituary, Death – Missing Lincolnton Man Found Deceased in Wooded Area

LINCOLNTON, N.C. — The search for a missing Lincolnton man has ended in tragedy, as authorities announced a significant development in the case on Monday, July 21, 2025.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, under the leadership of Sheriff Bill Beam, had been assisting the Lincolnton Police Department in locating 53-year-old Robert Wolf Jr., who was last seen on Friday, July 4, at his home on Little Street. His disappearance drew growing concern from loved ones after his pickup truck was found abandoned in the Food Lion parking lot on Stanford Road, a location he was known to visit frequently.

A breakthrough in the search came on Wednesday, July 16, when the Lincoln County Land Search Team located a deceased male in a wooded area behind the Food Lion. The remains are believed to be those of Robert Wolf Jr., although authorities have not yet made a positive identification.

As the body was found outside Lincolnton’s city limits, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office has assumed responsibility for the ongoing death investigation.
