WALDORF, Md. — On the morning of July 21, 2025, a tragic two-vehicle collision on Post Office Road near Leonardtown Road in Waldorf claimed the life of Gianni De’Andre Fleming, 27, of Waldorf. The fatal crash occurred around 3:58 a.m. and involved a 2014 Chevrolet Camaro and a 2020 Chevrolet Traverse, according to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Operations Unit.
Fleming, who was the sole occupant of the Camaro, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Traverse was not injured.
Preliminary findings suggest that both vehicles were traveling northbound on Post Office Road when the Traverse rear-ended the Camaro, causing the fatal crash. Investigators have not yet determined the exact cause and are examining multiple factors, including vehicle speed, road conditions, and driver actions.
The investigation is being led by PFC Skodzinski of the Charles County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has relevant information to contact 301-932-3056. The Sheriff’s Office noted that the case is still under active investigation, and potential charges may be considered depending on the findings.
Fleming’s sudden passing has left the Waldorf community in mourning. The crash has also renewed discussions about traffic safety, particularly the dangers associated with rear-end collisions, which are among the most frequent types of vehicle accidents and are often linked to distraction or following too closely.
