A committed and passionate advocate for her community, Vickie was a tireless volunteer, involved in mental health awareness, local outreach efforts, and countless community initiatives. Just days before her passing, Vickie attended a pool party with fellow JDI dance families, celebrating life, sharing laughter, and speaking excitedly about future plans with her beloved daughter, Claire. She looked forward to special one-on-one moments with Claire and had dreams of watching her grow and thrive. Her kindness and warmth were instantly felt by those she had just met—her legacy of love was already being formed in new friendships and shared hopes.
Her loss is deeply felt—not only by her family, friends, and the JDI community—but by an entire city that had come to value her quiet strength and radiant heart. A meal train has been set up by loved ones to support the Hulstrand family during this time of mourning, offering a small way to care for a family who gave so much to others.
Vickie is survived by her loving husband and their cherished daughter Claire, who was the center of her world. She leaves behind a family that adored her and a community forever changed by her kindness.
A memorial service will be held in her honor to celebrate a life so beautifully lived and to remember the woman who made everyone around her feel like family.
