Jane Doe Obituary, Death; 22-Year-Old Woman Fatally Shot in Allentown, Homicide Investigation Underway

Allentown, Pennsylvania — Authorities have launched a homicide investigation following the tragic death of a 22-year-old woman who was found shot inside a residence in Allentown early Tuesday morning, July 22, 2025.

The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office confirmed that the victim, currently identified as Jane Doe, was discovered with fatal gunshot wounds at a home in the 700 block of W. Turner Street. She was pronounced dead at the scene just after 6 a.m., though officials believe the shooting occurred around 4:15 a.m.

The case is being actively investigated by the Allentown Police Department, the Lehigh County Homicide Task Force, the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office, and the coroner’s office. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday, July 23, to determine the exact cause and manner of death.

Following investigative efforts, police identified Adam Makowka, 27, of South Whitehall, as the suspect in the shooting. Authorities stated that he was apprehended without incident and is facing multiple charges, including criminal homicide, attempted criminal homicide, and two counts of aggravated assault.

The tragic loss of this young woman has left the community in mourning. As the investigation continues, many await justice for a life taken far too soon.
