It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Joseph Curto, age 54, of Seaford, New York, who died on Saturday, July 20, 2025, from injuries sustained in a tragic head-on collision that occurred in Bethpage on July 15.
According to Nassau County Police, Curto had been hospitalized in critical condition following the crash and ultimately succumbed to those injuries. Authorities had been preparing to charge him with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) in connection to the incident.
The collision also claimed the life of Cindy Saborio, a 40-year-old woman from Wantagh, who was driving southbound on Seamans Neck Road when her vehicle was struck head-on by Curto’s northbound Honda Pilot. Cindy tragically died at the scene, leaving a community in mourning.
The devastating crash has reignited conversations around road safety and the consequences of impaired driving. Both families are now coping with an unimaginable loss, as two lives were cut short in a moment of irreversible tragedy.
