The San Antonio community is mourning the tragic loss of 28-year-old Omar Pedro Garcia, who was fatally struck by a vehicle over the weekend while walking across Bandera Road.
The incident occurred around 10 p.m. on Saturday in the 1000 block of Bandera Road. According to the San Antonio Police Department, Garcia was crossing the roadway when he was hit by a Dodge Nitro.
On Monday, the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed Garcia’s identity and stated that he died from blunt force injuries. His death has been officially ruled an accident.
Authorities reported that the driver of the Dodge Nitro, a 35-year-old woman, fled the scene after the collision. As of now, additional details surrounding the incident remain limited.
The case is still under active investigation, and police continue to seek information regarding the hit-and-run.
