Two Arrested in Fatal Greenville Shooting on Battle Street

GREENVILLE, N.C. — Two men have been arrested and charged with murder in connection to a deadly shooting that occurred Monday morning in Greenville.

Kaci Davon Aseantaz Hardy, 25, and Allen Michael Fischer, 35, were taken into custody by the Greenville Police Department’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team with assistance from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office. The arrests were made early Tuesday morning at the Cypress Inn & Suites in Chocowinity, located at 3635 US-17. Both suspects were apprehended without incident.

Hardy and Fischer each face the following charges:

  • One open count of Murder
  • One count of Possession of a Firearm by a Felon

The charges stem from a shooting that took place just after 10:00 a.m. on July 21 in the 1200 block of Battle Street. Officers responded to the scene following reports of gunfire and found 42-year-old Kelvin Dwayne Williams of Greenville suffering from gunshot wounds outside the residence at 1223A Battle Street. Despite life-saving efforts by EMS, Williams was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to investigators, preliminary evidence indicates the shooting may have been the result of an earlier dispute. Detectives from GPD’s Major Crimes Unit and Violent Criminal Apprehension Team, along with an investigator from the Pitt County District Attorney’s Office, worked tirelessly through the day and night to identify and locate the suspects.

Hardy and Fischer are currently being held without bond.

Authorities have expressed gratitude to all agencies involved for their swift and coordinated response in apprehending the suspects.

The investigation remains ongoing.
