Fort Wayne, IN — With heavy hearts and profound sadness, the Fort Wayne community mourns the tragic and untimely loss of Kardenai Anthony Hollis, a vibrant 16-year-old whose life was cut short in a senseless act of violence over the weekend. Kardenai was the victim of a fatal shooting that occurred in the early morning hours of Saturday, around 3 a.m., in the 1800 block of River Run Trail, within the Woodbridge Apartments complex on the city’s north side.
Emergency responders rushed Kardenai to a nearby hospital, where medical teams worked tirelessly to save him. Tragically, despite their best efforts, Kardenai succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. According to the Allen County Coroner’s Office, Kardenai’s cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds, and his death has been officially ruled a homicide.
