AUGUSTA, GA — The Augusta community is grieving the heartbreaking loss of Kyvan Isaiah James, a 27-year-old man whose life was tragically cut short following injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash last week. The Richmond County Coroner’s Office confirmed that Kyvan passed away on Monday at 5:52 p.m. after several days of hospitalization at Wellstar MCG Health.

According to Coroner Mark Bowen, Kyvan was involved in a collision while riding his motorcycle on Meadowbrook Drive near Sturnidae Drive around 9:15 p.m. on July 16. Emergency responders rushed him from the scene, but despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries days later. The incident remains under active investigation, with no further details released at this time.
