Port Jervis Man Killed After Being Struck by Car on N.J. Highway

MONTAGUE TOWNSHIP, N.J. — A 71-year-old man from New York tragically lost his life Tuesday morning after being struck by a vehicle on a New Jersey highway, authorities confirmed.

According to the New Jersey State Police, Thomas Brislin, a resident of Port Jervis, N.Y., was struck while in the roadway along Route 23 south near milepost 51.7 in Montague Township at approximately 7:20 a.m..

Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but sadly, Thomas Brislin was pronounced deceased. No additional injuries were reported in the incident, and the driver involved remained at the scene.

Authorities have not yet released further details about the circumstances that led to Brislin being in the roadway. The investigation remains ongoing, and no charges have been announced as of Tuesday afternoon.
