SILVERTHORNE, COLORADO — With profound sorrow and heavy hearts, we share that the search for 1½-year-old Zeldris has come to a devastating end. Authorities confirmed this evening that the young boy’s body was recovered near the Blue River in Silverthorne.
Zeldris was reported missing earlier this week, prompting an immediate and expansive search effort involving local, county, and state resources. Despite the swift and tireless work by rescue crews, the tragedy unfolded in the most heartbreaking way possible.
“Our hearts are absolutely broken for Zeldris’s family as they endure this unimaginable loss,” officials said in a statement. “There are no words for this kind of pain.”
We extend our deepest condolences to the grieving family and heartfelt gratitude to the Silverthorne Police Department, Summit County Sheriff’s Office, Colorado State Patrol, local fire and EMS, and all the search and rescue teams who mobilized quickly and worked around the clock in hopes of bringing Zeldris home safely.
