Authorities have officially identified 33-year-old Alexis Berenice Guadarrama Orozco as the woman at the center of a recent and troubling missing person investigation in San Diego. According to the San Diego Police Department, Alexis was reported missing under suspicious circumstances on July 15, and investigators now believe she is deceased.
The case took a dramatic turn when police arrested Eduardo Magana, 48, of La Puente in Los Angeles County — Orozco’s ex-boyfriend. He has since been booked into San Diego County Jail on suspicion of murder.
Detectives said evidence gathered during the investigation led them to believe that Alexis’s disappearance was not accidental, and that foul play was involved. Their inquiry ultimately pointed to Magana, who was stopped during a routine traffic stop in San Diego and subsequently brought in for questioning.
While the case remains active, San Diego Police continue to seek the public’s help in gathering further information. Anyone who may have seen anything suspicious or has details that could assist investigators is encouraged to contact the Homicide Unit at 619-531-2293, or to share tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
