It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we share the tragic loss of Cody Satterfield.
Cody began his EMS journey right here at JCEMS, where he was not just a colleague but truly family. From his very first shift, Cody brought a calm confidence, an unmatched dedication, and a heart full of compassion to every call he answered. His commitment to saving lives and caring for others defined him, both as a paramedic and as a person.
Over the years, Cody expanded his impact, going on to serve communities across East Tennessee, including his most recent roles with Hancock County EMS and Sullivan County EMS. No matter where he went, Cody carried the same steadfast professionalism and genuine care that earned him the respect and admiration of his peers.
But Cody was more than a skilled provider—he was also a teacher, a mentor, and a friend. He poured his knowledge, experience, and heart into educating the next generation of EMS professionals, shaping future responders with the same passion and purpose that guided his own career.
To know Cody was to know warmth, courage, and integrity. His absence leaves an immeasurable void in the EMS community and in the lives of all who were privileged to serve beside him.
Our deepest condolences go out to Cody’s family, friends, and our fellow EMS team members across the region who mourn this devastating loss. Please keep them close in your hearts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
Rest easy, Cody.
Your shift is over, but your impact, your spirit, and your legacy will live on forever in the lives you touched.
