Troopers Identify 35-Year-Old Man Killed in Lebanon County Crash on US 22

LEBANON COUNTY, Pa.  — Authorities have identified the man killed in a tragic crash on US Route 22 in East Hanover Township on Wednesday afternoon has 35-year-old Cory Rhoad of Schuylkill Haven

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the victim was 35-year-old Cory Rhoad of Schuylkill Haven. The fatal collision occurred around 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Route 22 and Coon Creek Road.

Preliminary findings from the crash report indicate that the driver of a 2010 Honda Fit had come to a complete stop at a posted stop sign and checked for traffic in both directions before proceeding through the intersection. As the vehicle moved forward, it was struck by a 2009 Saab 93 traveling along Route 22.

Rhoad, who was behind the wheel of the Saab, suffered fatal injuries in the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Emergency services responded promptly, but despite their efforts, Rhoad could not be saved. The driver of the Honda has not been publicly identified, and the extent of their injuries has not been disclosed at this time.

The Pennsylvania State Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. No charges have been filed, and it is unclear if speed or other factors played a role in the incident.

This devastating loss has left the community of Schuylkill Haven mourning the sudden passing of Cory Rhoad, as friends and loved ones remember a life cut tragically short.
