ALBANY, GA — The Albany Police Department is investigating a fatal stabbing that claimed the life of 33-year-old Darius Jackson early Thursday morning in the 1000 block of E. Tift Avenue.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene following reports of a violent altercation. Jackson was found with life-threatening stab wounds and was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Authorities have not yet released details regarding a suspect or motive. The area remained cordoned off for several hours as investigators processed the scene and interviewed witnesses.
“This is an active and ongoing investigation,” the Albany Police Department said in a statement. “We are working diligently to determine the facts surrounding this tragic incident.”
