Elmore County Crash Claims Life of Wetumpka Man

ELMORE COUNTY, Ala. — A tragic single-vehicle crash near Wetumpka on Wednesday evening has claimed the life of a local man and left another injured, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).

James T. Tucker, 31, of Wetumpka, sustained critical injuries when the vehicle he was driving veered off Redland Road, struck a ditch, and overturned around 6 p.m. Emergency responders transported Tucker to Elmore Community Hospital in Wetumpka, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities noted that Tucker was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

A 29-year-old passenger, also from Wetumpka, was injured in the accident and transported to Jackson Hospital in Montgomery. His condition has not been publicly released.

The crash occurred approximately three miles west of Wetumpka, and ALEA Troopers are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
