WOODBURN, OR — A tragic two-vehicle collision on Saturday night, July 26, 2025, near Woodburn claimed the life of Angel Moreno-Cano, a 26-year-old resident of Gervais, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were dispatched shortly before 9:00 p.m. to the scene of a reported head-on collision on Butteville Road NE, near its intersection with Jensen Road NE. Upon arrival, emergency responders found two vehicles involved in a serious crash. Sadly, Moreno-Cano was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The other driver involved in the collision sustained only minor injuries and was treated at the scene. Their identity has not been made public, but authorities confirmed that the driver is cooperating fully with the ongoing investigation. At this time, no criminal charges have been filed.
Investigators have not yet determined the cause of the crash. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office stated that they are continuing to gather evidence and speak with witnesses.
