Coroner Identifies Victim in Deadly Rollover Crash in Greenville

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Greenville County Coroner’s Office has identified the man killed in a rollover crash Saturday afternoon as 56-year-old Darrell Scott Puttman of Greenville.

The crash occurred around 3:40 p.m. on 3rd Avenue, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol. Investigators say Puttman was driving a 2017 Nissan Versa eastbound when the vehicle veered off the left side of the road, struck a ditch, and overturned.

Emergency crews responded quickly and transported Puttman to Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital, but despite life-saving efforts, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 4:33 p.m. Authorities noted that Puttman was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The incident remains under investigation by both the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Greenville County Coroner’s Office.
