LUBBOCK, Texas — The Lubbock Police Department has identified the victim in Friday evening’s shooting at the Executive Inn located at 44th Street and Avenue Q as 34-year-old Keyarie Wartson.
Authorities responded to the scene at approximately 6:46 p.m., where they found Wartson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. According to police, Wartson had been shot by an unknown male suspect and fled to a nearby room in the motel seeking help.
Emergency medical services quickly arrived and transported Wartson to University Medical Center (UMC) with serious injuries. His current condition has not been publicly disclosed.
As of Saturday afternoon, no arrests have been made and no suspects have been named. The investigation remains ongoing, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
