With broken hearts, we share the devastating news of the passing of Joshua Henderson, a 16-year-old student-athlete whose life was tragically cut short after suffering a heat stroke during football practice. Joshua had been receiving care at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital since July 7, surrounded by love and hope, but passed away despite the efforts of medical teams and the prayers of many.
Joshua was more than just a football player — he was a bright, kind-hearted young man full of promise. Known for his determination, sportsmanship, and warm spirit, he carried a quiet strength that inspired everyone around him. On and off the field, Joshua gave his all — as a teammate, a student, a son, and a friend.
His passing has left an indescribable void in the hearts of his family, his teammates, and the entire community. As we grieve this unimaginable loss, we also honor the incredible person he was and the legacy he leaves behind — one of perseverance, kindness, and quiet leadership.
The community is joining together in prayer and remembrance, wrapping Joshua’s loved ones in compassion during this time of sorrow. His memory will live on in the lives he touched, and his spirit will remain a part of the team, the school, and every heart that knew him.
Rest peacefully, Joshua.
You will always be remembered.
Forever 16. Forever loved.
