NEW YORK — Tonight, hearts across the city are heavy as we mourn the senseless loss of life following a mass shooting in Midtown Manhattan that has, so far, claimed the lives of an NYPD officer and four civilians. What should have been an ordinary Monday evening turned into a nightmare one marked by chaos, grief, and unspeakable sorrow.
The gunman, identified by law enforcement sources as Shane Tamura, a 27-year-old from Las Vegas, opened fire inside 345 Park Avenue, a major Manhattan office tower. What followed was a brutal act of violence that left behind shattered lives and an entire city in mourning.
