Coroner: Victim in Allen County Weekend Homicide Shot Multiple Times

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind.  — The Allen County Coroner’s Office has confirmed that the man killed in a weekend shooting died from multiple gunshot wounds, officially ruling his death a homicide.

The victim has been identified as 67-year-old Roger Marvin Swedzinski of Fort Wayne.

According to the Allen County Sheriff’s Department, the incident took place on Saturday evening in the 700 block of Hathaway Road, near Dunton Road. Deputies responded to the area after receiving reports of a possible shooting and discovered Swedzinski suffering from fatal injuries.

The investigation remains active, and detectives are urging anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity or heard anything unusual in the area that evening to come forward with information.

Swedzinski’s death marks the 25th homicide in Allen County so far in 2025, highlighting a concerning rise in violent crime across the region.
