Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on East Maiden Road in Catawba County

MAIDEN, N.C. — A tragic motorcycle crash in Catawba County claimed the life of a Lincolnton man Monday evening, July 28, 2025. According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, 57-year-old Roger Albert Bradstreet died following a single-vehicle accident on East Maiden Road near Lebanon Road.

The crash occurred around 7:50 p.m., when Bradstreet was traveling eastbound on a 2008 Kawasaki motorcycle. Authorities say he veered off the right side of the roadway and struck a concrete culvert. The impact ejected Bradstreet from the motorcycle.

He was transported by medical helicopter to Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Preliminary investigations point to excessive speed as a contributing factor in the crash. No other vehicles were involved.

East Maiden Road was temporarily closed for approximately one hour while troopers conducted an on-scene investigation.

Bradstreet’s death marks yet another somber reminder of the dangers of high-speed travel, particularly on motorcycles. The investigation remains ongoing.
