LAKE COUNTY, Tenn.– A tragic investigation is unfolding in Northwest Tennessee after four bodies were discovered Tuesday night in Lake County. Authorities believe the deaths may be connected to an abandoned infant case reported earlier that same day in neighboring Dyer County.
According to the Dyer County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO), deputies were first alerted around 3 p.m. Tuesday when a seven-month-old girl was found alone in a car seat left in the yard of a residence along Old Highway in Tigrett. A concerned witness called 911, and the infant was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
As the situation developed, investigators identified three individuals of interest in connection to the abandoned child: Cortney Rose, Matthew Wilson, and Adrianna Williams. Whether any of these individuals are among the deceased found in Lake County remains unconfirmed. Authorities are currently withholding the identities of the four victims pending next-of-kin notification.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is leading the death investigation with active assistance from Dyer County deputies. Both the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) have been called in to support the case.
“This is a deeply saddening day for our community,” said Dyer County Sheriff Jeff Box. “We are committed to uncovering the truth and ensuring justice is served.”
The investigation remains ongoing. Officials are asking anyone with information to contact the Dyer County Sheriff’s Office at 731-285-2802.
The community is being urged to keep all those impacted in their thoughts and prayers as authorities work to bring clarity to this deeply disturbing case.
