In Loving Memory of Deputy Shawn Green

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Deputy Shawn Green, a dedicated public servant and 25-year veteran of the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, who tragically lost his life in an off-duty car crash in Okeechobee County.

Throughout his remarkable career, Deputy Green exemplified unwavering commitment and integrity in every role he held. He served in various capacities within the agency—including Road Patrol, Courthouse Security, and the Corrections Department—and was a proud member of the Martin County Sheriff’s Honor Guard. His professionalism, loyalty, and compassion made a lasting impact on those he served and those who served alongside him.

Deputy Green came from a family rooted in law enforcement. His father is a retired MCSO detective, and two of his sisters, along with his brother-in-law, currently serve with the Martin County Sheriff’s Office. His brother also serves in a neighboring agency—together, a family deeply committed to the safety and well-being of their community.

Shawn leaves behind a young daughter, devoted parents, loving siblings, and an extended family bonded by both blood and badge. He will be remembered as a loyal friend, a trusted colleague, and a man who led with heart and honor.
