LANCASTER, N.Y— The Lancaster community is mourning the tragic loss of Adam Curtis, who was killed in a motorcycle crash Monday evening on Broadway near Cemetery Road.
According to the Lancaster Police Department, the crash occurred just after 5 p.m. when Curtis, riding eastbound on Route 20, collided with a pickup truck making a left turn from Town Square Drive. His motorcycle then struck an oncoming SUV traveling westbound. Sadly, Curtis died at the scene.
Investigators believe speed may have been a contributing factor in the crash. Authorities are continuing their investigation and are asking anyone with information to call (716) 683-2800 ext. 223.
In the days since the crash, a roadside memorial has formed near the site. A simple wooden cross bearing the name “Adam” now stands as a tribute to his memory. Friends, family, and community members have been leaving flowers and sharing stories about the man they knew and loved.
Curtis’ friend Tyler described him as “one of a kind” — a man who was passionate about his family, friends, his dog, motorcycles, and cars.
Heartfelt tributes have also come from local fire departments. The Town Line Fire Department, where Curtis’ father serves as a firefighter, shared a message on Facebook asking the public to “say a prayer and send strength” to the Curtis family during this heartbreaking time.
The Lancaster community continues to rally around the family, remembering Adam not just for how he died — but for how he lived, loved, and left a mark on everyone who knew him.
